Each of the Tiny Virtue Heroes storybooks has a hidden “feature” that you’ll like knowing about. On each 2-page spread is a word or phrase that is featured in a contrasting color, and larger type. This is not just a design feature to make the book look charming. It is a strategic approach to help young children desire to learn, and feel successful, in starting to read for themselves.

Wisdom Finds a Way is a fresh retelling of the visit of the three wise kings to bring gifts to the child Jesus. While it is a perfect addition to everyone’s read-aloud library for Christmas, this tale is designed to inspire the desire for the virtue of WISDOM in readers at any time of year. Children sometimes enjoy reading it at a non-Christmas time because it is silly and fun to do…and it brings the joy and warmth of Christmas into an otherwise “ordinary day.”

We can now expand the way we think of the term: VBS. It can now also mean “Virtue Building Season,” any time we imaginatively and joyfully focus our children’s play time, pray time, and everyday time in ways to help them to think and pray, do and say…virtue. The MISSION VIRTUE CHALLENGE enables us to do just that!

Children can learn the 4 Virtue Power gestures to remind them that our everyday efforts to be good, combined with prayer, strengthen us with the force of grace to make VIRTUE our SUPER-Power!
